Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How big will our puppy get?

A: We have not had a puppy exceed 30 lbs that we know of. Most average 18-22lbs. We do have some puppies that stay around 10-15lbs as adults. We have been quite good at “guesstimating” how big our pups will be as an adult however!

Q: If I send in a deposit but there are no puppies that suit me in the next litter what happens?

A: Deposits can be rolled over to future litters within a reasonable amount of time. We promise to work with each customer to ensure that they get the puppy that is right for them!

Q: Are deposits refundable?

A: Deposits are non-refundable UNLESS for some reason we are not able to offer any puppies for you to choose from.

Q: I cannot pick up my puppy on or near Puppy Pick Up day, can you hold him or /her for me until I can?

A: All puppies are expected to be picked up on Puppy Pick Up day unless prior arrangements have been made with us at least one month in advance. We may be able to hold a puppy for up to one week at maximum.

Q:  Why do you require a deposit?

A:  We have tried several different methods of “reserving” a puppy. The one that seems to work best for us, and our customers seems to be requiring a deposit in order to be placed on a reservation list for a puppy.

Q: Can I pay more for a puppy to be placed higher on the reservation list?

A: No. That would not be fair to other people. While this is a business for us our main focus is to be fair, honest and transparent with our clients and to provide then with the Goldendoodle of their dreams!

Q: You advertised that a specific female should have puppies, but she did not, what happened?

A: There are a number of variables that can affect a female from being successfully bred. We work very closely with our veterinarian to eliminate as many of those variables as we can to ensure that we have healthy puppies to provide for our customers. Having said that, our number one priority is the health and welfare our dogs. They are our family members, and we will not take any unnecessary risks with them.

Q: There are a lot of “scammers” out there or “puppy mills” that care about money only, not their customers or the health and welfare of the dogs. How do I know your business is not like them?

A: The short answer is you don’t……. unless you do your homework! Our kennel is open for inspection by potential customers whenever they want (within reason of course). You can visit us, see our adult dogs and see our set up. Also visit our Facebook page “Dara’s Doodles”, message any person who has gotten a dog from us and ask them questions about us, we are confident they will tell you nothing but good things! Even if you do not end up getting a puppy from us we encourage you to research any breeder whom you may purchase a puppy from!
